Brazilian jiu-jitsu

Former club president at the University of Iowa, three semesters of organizing competitions, teaching fundamentals, and keeping the mats safe.

Kian served as president of the University of Iowa's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club for three semesters, where he organized competitions, taught during basics classes, and was responsible for making sure the club ran safely. Leading a club built around live, physical practice carries a lot of the same underlying skills as running an engineering team, planning around risk, teaching technique clearly, and staying calm when something goes wrong.

More on his BJJ background is coming soon.
